The combination of your amazing running achievements with the concept of ‘failure’ made for a fascinating and thought-provoking presentation

Get Inspired to Reach Your Goals

I’m an ultra-endurance athlete with multiple race wins. Including 100 miles and 100km races, marathons, half-marathons, 10k’s and 5k’s.

I recently attempted to break a world-record by running more than 800 miles in 9 days. My journey started in Land’s End, Cornwall and would end in John o’ Groats, Scotland.

I use my experiences, combined with some of the latest theories, to inspire and motivate audiences to try to achieve bigger and better things.

To push themselves to the limit of their potential.

To improve their own lives.

And to improve the lives of those around them - Family, friends, employers, employees and others.

We found the insight in to your training for a world record attempt fascinating”

About James

I’m a successful ultra-runner, endurance athlete, running coach and motivational speaker.

And I balance this with being a father to two beautiful children - Rosie and Lottie - and husband to a beautiful wife - Catherine.

As a speaker, I want to provide you with a few key things for your event:

  1. A session that inspires your audience - I don’t just talk for the sake of talking. I want your audience to take away some actionable steps. Steps that can improve their own lives. The businesses that they work for. And the communities they live in .

  2. A tailored approach that is specific to YOUR requirements and YOUR audience - My experiences of taking part and winning extreme ultra-events has led me to develop many skills that are applicable to many areas of life. I also have a family, and have worked for big corporate companies. So I know many of the challenges you and your audience face. And can tailor a talk, seminar or other event to work for those.

  3. A seamless, easy experience off-stage - As a meeting planner it can be chaotic to organise events. So I want to be the least of your concerns when you’re organising everything else. I pride myself on excellent communication before the event and showing up on time and with minimal effort on your part to get ready for my presentation.

We were entertained by James’ stories of eating baby food and pictures of his toes. The children loved holding his trophies!

Speaking Topics

setting Big, Fat, Scary goals

Speaking at National Running Show for Saucony (2).jpg

I like setting myself big, fat, scary goals. And I have achieved many of them.

From winning 100-mile and 100km races (and more). To taking my family, and 5 month old baby, on a life-changing trip to Australia for 4 months

Using failure in a positive way

And I’ve also experienced failure when chasing big, fat, scary goals…

But I see failure differently to most people. I revel in it and see it as an opportunity to push myself to greater heights. And I think you should too

Prioritising and balance

Speaking at Sky.jpg

Like everyone, I have many different priorities in life.

Family, friends, work, running, blogging, speaking and other things all take up time. But how do I manage it all? What simple tricks do I use?
